So what's this legend about?

Speculative      Epic     Adventure     Low Fantasy

with a flare of Mystery and a dash of Sci-fi and Dystopian genres

"This time-bending, world-altering tale of secrets both uncovered and buried, doubt of oneself and others, enduring confidence in the same, mistakes and luck, grit that inspires, and above all, love extends as far as YOU are willing to explore."

This tale is firstly written with and about love. Not the kiss and fall in love kind of love, but an enduring kind. The kind you get from listening to the tales relatives tell. The kind that blooms from random acts of kindness from peers and friends that inspire you to share such warmth.
And it was written with the following questions in mind:
how would you tell the story of your life and how would it be similar or different from the story of your life told by someone else in your life?
But what happens?
Well, that depends on your perception. Maybe a girl with magical powers makes a journey home. Maybe the girl and her powers are a young boy's dream or maybe the girl is real but the powers are not but imagination...

Let yourself be transported

In true legend format, this legend pulls inspiration from children's and YA fantasy, classic adventure novels, sci-fi television series, academic pursuits, personal growth poetry and all kinds of works in between and then some. (I consider it best suited for adults because of the complexity of language at times and the level of detail)

So yes, it's about love. It's about life, magic and finding beauty in the world.

It's also about the balance of strength and fragility in both the physical and emotional realms.

And about cultural impact.

You'll find a bit of ethical debate about Deontology vs Consequentialism vs Virtue (in smaller words what is right/wrong based on duty vs outcome vs character of the doer).

And because I spent a lot of time looking at how words are commonly used vs what their technical definitions are, there's plenty of the legend that's 'about' communication.

But most importantly, this is the legend of us and you, my dear reader, have a part to play. And for your effort so far, you will now receive some hints. The legend begins with the cover and title (look again at how I've defined legend for my purposes on my home page). There is no subtitle, each part of the title is tied to the text, but not in the most obvious way you find. Like the cover design drawing inspiration from cover design elements more common in the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries, there is both a surface and deeper meaning with much of the text starting with the title and dedication. If your curiosity doesn't stretch as far as Deontology or you aren't curious enough about the origin and meanings of words and names to look them up, then for you that's not what the legend is about, and you will thusly come to a different conclusion as to what has truly transpired in this legend.

But if you are the type that wants to understand how things work, who loves to play with WHAT IFs and WHYs, you're in for far more than a tale about a young woman with a secret identity trying to get home.
